Message From President

Every day, children with disabilities are reminded of what the world thinks they cannot do. But through Special Olympics, I am reminded of their joy, courage, and boundless potential. Our movement is not about medals—it is about the happiness of playing, belonging, and being celebrated for who they are.

At Special Olympics Bhutan, we are committed to building an inclusive society where every individual is valued. Through programs like Unified Champion Schools and our national events, we create opportunities for children with and without intellectual disabilities to learn, play, and grow together, fostering friendship, leadership, and acceptance.

My heartfelt appreciation goes to all our partners, volunteers, coaches, and families. Together, let us continue to champion inclusion, celebrate the abilities of every individual, and nurture a more inclusive and compassionate Bhutan for all.

What We Do

We use the power of sport to open doors, build friendships, and celebrate every ability. Through inclusive programs, we help athletes grow stronger—on and off the field.

Inclusive Sports

We provide year-round sports training and competitions for athletes with intellectual disabilities.

Health & Wellness

We work with health professionals and institutions to offer screenings, education, and referrals so athletes can lead healthy and active lives.

Youth Leadership

Young people are at the heart of our movement. We train students to become advocates for inclusion in their communities.

Training & Partnerships

We collaborate with teachers, coaches, schools, sports bodies, and government agencies to build an inclusive ecosystem

It is a movement of unity, courage, and hope.

We envision a future where inclusive sports and wellness opportunities are available in every school and community across Bhutan. With strengthened partnerships, trained professionals, and expanded outreach, we continue to build a society where every person—regardless of ability—can live with pride, purpose, and possibility.
